In the second part of Ascarii’s ‘Meet the Consultant’ series, we are talking to Nicole, one of our newest consultants, who joined Ascarii earlier this year.Nicole is a mathematics graduate and part qualified accountant. She also has a project management qualification and has spent the last 10 years working in roles specialising in Finance, HR and payroll. Having gained extensive experience across numerous different business sectors, including a large retail multiple, construction industry, charity, and then on to manufacturing, Nicole can now apply her skills and experience to the SAP Business One projects she implements for Ascarii’s customers.
What made you decide to switch from working as an end user to implementing SAP Business One projects?
My last role involved project managing the implementation of SAP Business One on the client side, and that is where the passion and thirst for knowledge on this ERP system began. From the day we went live, I became the business super-user becoming the first port of call to resolve issues within the business. After that implementation, my role then became heavily SAP related and involved me looking at how we could improve the business on the digital front and utilise as much as possible of SAP Business One. I became SAP Business One Certified in September 2020.
What about other products, as well as SAP Business One?
While in my previous role at Bio-D, a manufacturer of ethical cleaning products, I came across Boyum Cloud, and investigated this further. It was a brand new product at the time and we became the first customer in the world to go live with Boyum Cloud. As we were the first customer globally, I had the privilege of working collaboratively with the team at Boyum to help shape the product for the growing needs of businesses. I also helped drive Bio-D to become a certified ‘great place to work’, and the 9th greatest place to work for Women in the UK for 2021.
I joined Ascarii in April 2021, and since then have had the opportunity to work with many businesses in different industries. My experience on the client side really helps me, as a consultant, to relate to customer pain points and apply my knowledge of SAP Business One to help them resolve their issues. I also get the opportunity to continue working collaboratively with other SAP Business One add-ons.
Outside of work?
While working in the charity sector I did many charity events, which included raising in excess of £500 for running the York 10K dressed as wonder woman. There are still some images out there to prove that, but I have barely run since. I live in East Yorkshire with my husband and son, and I enjoy spending time in the kitchen creating lots of tasty treats. I also enjoy spending time catching up with friends and family – as lockdown has made me appreciate this time a lot more.
